Natural Western Riding & Leadership

Develop a good feeling for the right timing, the sensitive use of thigh and weight aids to reduce the influence of the reins and, if necessary, to avoid it altogether. Among other things, this builds good, trusting and sensitive cooperation between man and horses.

The horse is so sensitive, and it will reflect all your progress. You will learn to develop feeling and timing, perfecting the use of leg and trim aids to minimize the influence of the reins. The goal is to create a partnership based on trust and sensitivity, transforming your relationship with the horse into a unique and authentic experience.

The course

The course teaches you to lead a horse naturally, both on the ground and in the saddle. You will learn about body language, empathy and understanding horses. You will also explore the foundations of a relationship that has lasted over 6,000 years. The course helps you to get to know your horse better and to communicate with them in a respectful way.

The programme:

The course combines theory and practice to improve the rider-horse relationship.

Practical activities:

  • Ground exercises to improve communication.
  • Saddle work to improve balance and coordination.
  • Rides with exercises. Outdoor activities to try out techniques in nature.

Theory:

  • Understanding how horses live, see and interact.
  • Building a respectful relationship with horses.
  • Observe and analyse to improve leadership techniques.

Who is it for?

This course is for riders who know the basics of pacing, trotting and galloping. It will help you communicate better with your horse.

Teaching method:

The course is developed in different contexts.

  • Riding school: for structured exercises.
  • Trail field: for practical challenges and technique.
  • Countryside: to practise in nature.
  • Equipment camp: to improve balance and awareness.

The Mountain Trail is a great way to practise what you've learned in different situations.

Who is the teacher?

Fabio Tascone teaches lessons using the Natural Riding method, which is based on 40 years of experience. Fabio is a farrier, riding instructor and trainer. He has spent his life developing a method based on listening to and communicating with horses. With a deep understanding of horse behaviour and respect, Fabio teaches people to build a happy, safe relationship with horses.

The course provides an interactive introduction to natural Western Riding the horse, to understand him better and to have a respectful relationship: how he lives, how he sees and how he relates to.
The course will be composed of different settings (riding school, trail area, countryside, an equipped field for balance…) where to experiment the teacher’s and horse’s indications to the riders.
The difficulties of the Mountain Trail allow us to understand and apply all the maneuvers learned in the field and their practical utility.
The changing nature of contexts is useful to supply the best occasions to verify the teachings and the proposed didactic method.

Teacher

Lessons are conducted by Fabio Tascone, in a simple and intuitive way with the Natural Riding method developed in 35 years of teaching to riders and horses.
Connoisseur and scholar of the sweet taming, Fabio built an alphabet for all horse lovers, based on the listening of their own body and the aware use of it, in order to communicate with the horse.
Farrier and teacher, riding instructor, trainer, he holds numerous experiences in different contexts, either for horses‘ types, for the function or for management situations. The skills developed during his life with horses have always been aimed toward animal welfare. For this reason, Fabio based his own experience on a „healthy use“ of horses, going from the observation of their behavior to a deep knowledge of the relationship of man and horse.
